By 1945 Shields Refrigeration Company was located on the first floor and Ralph R. Coffey and his family of six lived on the second floor. Shields Refrigeration remained on the first floor through 1954. The entire building was vacant in 1955.
Around 1976, the main floor of the building was occupied by ALL STAR SPORTS PUBLICATIONS which was run by Bob Gibbons. Mr. Gibbons was considered the preeminent evaluator of high school basketball talent in the nation at that time. Players and coaches that he has crossed paths with over his 40+ year career include the likes of Bobby Knight, Dean Smith, Coach K, Lute Olsen and a few notable players like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Ralph Sampson, James Worth and Clark Kellogg.
